This model is hand made from Japanese Madake Bamboo known for its strength and durability. Genuine Madake is rare and expensive as Madake is known to have thick and flexible fibres which prevents it from breaking or splitting easily. It is so strong that it is the preferred bamboo to use in furniture and for construction purposes.
