“Hon-Akagashi” Japanese Red Oak is an evergreen broadleaf tree from the Fagaceae family. Similar but different to American Red Oak being an evergreen tree it does not have a conspicuous open grain like there distant relative which produces soft areas in their wood, which are prone to impact damage making it more resilient and dent resistance.
